Handset Compatibility

Will my mobile phone handset work with TravelSIM?

  • TravelSIM is designed to work with all mobile phone handsets.
  • TravelSIM works with almost all handsets as expected however certain handsets may require a simple setting change (SIM card setting, not handset) that can be made from the handset (e.g. Most Samsung and LG handsets require a setting change - see Compatibility Mode).
  • Very few mobile phone handsets will not work with TravelSIM at all.
  • Check this list for Incompatible Handsets

General Information:

Apple iPhone

  • Works well
  • Some versions of the software require that you use the over-ride code for making calls

LG

  • Works well in most models
  • Needs Compatibility Mode setting change

Motorola

  • No known problems
  • the new Motorola RZ phones work without a problem

Nokia

  • most mobile phones work without a problem
  • mobile phones older than 5 years, should be assumed probable and should be tested before you leave.

Samsung

  • Works well in all models tested
  • Needs Compatibility Mode setting change

Siemens

  • no deficiencies
  • experience shows that Siemens is significantly the best working mobile phone in combination with TravelSIM

Sony Ericsson

  • no deficiencies
